NewspapersLearning & development

At Archant, we recognise that our people are our most valuable asset who make sure our publications are successful in the communities within which we work.

Whatever department you work in you will receive an induction which will introduce you to the company, help you understand other departments and settle you into your new team. This will mean that you will be able to start to feel part of Archant as quickly as possible.

You will also be given a development plan and will have ongoing conversations with your manager with regards to this. Your training will then be unique to you and will be provided through a variety of methods such as classroom, on the job, coaching etc.

We also have an Archant Academy which provides a variety of management courses and sales training.

Darren IstedSales training

Our sales department has a career development path which employees are coached and guided through by their line manager. This programme provides a clear development route from entry level sales consultant to Account Manager and Team Leader.

All of our sales employees have an induction programme which lasts for one week. This induction provides employees with knowledge of the Archant products and the core sales skills that they will need to complete their role. This is followed by a two day top up course which is completed within the first year of employment.

We were confident that after appearing on GMTV, BBC, Daily Mirror and having a number of sales books published the trainer chosen would provide something special and the feedback received showed that this was the case.

"The training was fresh and innovative. The trainer was entertaining and enlightening and opened the mind to new ideas"

"I think this is the best course I've ever been on. I feel really inspired".
